The Texas Department of Public Safety runs the STEAR program.

State of Texas Emergency Assistance Registry (STEAR)

If you need assistance during an emergency event such as a natural disaster, consider signing up for Texas State’s STEAR (State of Texas Emergency Assistance Registry) program.  

STEAR is made for:

• People with disabilities
• People with access and functional needs such as:
• Limited mobility
• Communication barriers
• Requiring additional medical assistance
• Requiring transportation assistance
• Requiring personal care assistance

STEAR provides local emergency planners and responders with information on the needs of their community.  Available services vary by community. To learn more about your county’s use of the program, visit their Emergency Management Office.

Registration for STEAR is free, voluntary, and confidential.
